About Us

The Beginning of a Dream
It was a warm summer day in 2003 when my wife, our oldest daughter, and I were enjoying an ice cream cone at a creamery in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. That simple moment sparked a dream – to one day make our own homemade ice cream. After plenty of research and visits to other creameries, we took a key step forward in 2005 by enrolling in the Penn State Ice Cream Short Course, held each January. The course gave us valuable knowledge and direction to pursue our vision. We chose the name “Windy Knoll” after the home farm where I was born and raised – an ideal name for both our ice cream and future retail market. With the Lord’s blessing, we built on our farm and officially opened our doors in February 2008.

We’re thankful for what we’ve built, humbled by those who support us, and excited for what’s still to come.

Growing with Purpose
As our business grew, so did our offerings. We expanded our product line and began receiving inquiries about wholesale ice cream. Over the past 17 years, we’ve been blessed to manufacture and distribute more than 80 flavors of our homemade ice cream. Our wholesale deliveries now serve local scoop shops and stores across the region. We owe deep gratitude to our dedicated staff and family members who faithfully show up each day to serve our customers. If you’re ever in the area, we invite you to stop by and visit us. Our farm market is filled with bulk foods, a deli, fresh produce, a bakery, and a sandwich shop – plus, we hand-dip 24 flavors of our own ice cream daily.
